Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible

Javier Mota, owner of this website (javimota.es). You can write to me at any time at javi.mota.ale@gmail.com.

2. What data I process and why

There are no sign-ups on this website. I only process the data you send me if you write to me through the contact form, by email or on LinkedIn: your name, your email address and whatever you tell me. The form also stores the date, the time and the page you write from. I use it to reply and, if we end up working together, for whatever that job requires. I do not build profiles or make automated decisions.

To stop spam, the form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3, which looks at how the page is used (for example, mouse movements and technical data about the browser and device) and gives the submission a score. It only loads on the contact page.

3. Legal basis

Your consent, when you write to me (on the form, you give it by ticking the box), and, if you ask for a quote or we start a project, pre-contractual measures or the contract itself. You can withdraw your consent at any time. The reCAPTCHA check is based on my legitimate interest in protecting the website and your message from spam and abuse.

4. How long I keep it

As long as needed to deal with your request and, afterwards, as long as the law requires. When it is no longer needed, I delete it. Messages sent through the form are also stored on the website itself, so none is lost if email fails, and they are deleted automatically after one year.

5. Who it is shared with

I do not give your data to anyone, unless the law requires it. To run the website and email I use providers acting as data processors:

• OVH (website hosting, on servers in the European Union).
• Brevo (sends the form messages to my inbox; an EU company).
• Google: Gmail, where I receive what you write, and reCAPTCHA, on the contact page. Google may process data in the United States; it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as an adequate safeguard. Its privacy policy and terms apply.
• YouTube, only on pages with an embedded video: it loads in privacy-enhanced mode and sets no cookies until you press play.

6. Cookies

The website uses one first-party cookie, jm_cookie_consent, which stores your choice in the cookie notice for 180 days. On the contact page, reCAPTCHA may store in your browser what it needs to tell a person from a program (for example, Google’s _GRECAPTCHA cookie, for six months); it is there to secure the form and is not used for advertising. There are currently no analytics or advertising cookies; if there ever are, they will only be enabled if you accept them in that notice. Fonts are served from this same server, without calling third parties.

7. Your rights

You can access, rectify or erase your data, object to its processing, ask for it to be restricted and take it with you. For any of these, write to me at javi.mota.ale@gmail.com. If you think I have not handled them properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

8. Security

I apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access.

9. Changes

If anything changes (for example, if I add analytics), I will update it here with its date.
