An advertiser Javi Mota with a strategist’s head, Poster from the Five Guys campaign SEO hands Javi tinkering with a computer and a healthy dose of bite A pixel-art black sheep (the good kind).

Who I am (for real)

I overthink things. To buy a coffee machine I wrote myself a PhD: ceramic versus steel burrs, spare parts, pumps and after-sales service. That same obsession is what I put into SEO, digital strategy and AI today.

Researching everything this deeply doesn’t come from university, but from when I was a kid. I’ve always been a bit of a computer geek, but where and when I grew up it wasn’t normal for a child to have a computer to tinker with. So if I wanted to play anything other than Snake, I had to figure things out myself: with tutorials and a lot of patience I learned to buy parts separately and stretch every euro. That’s where my love affair with hardware and troubleshooting began.

My real training doesn’t come only from my Advertising and PR degree: much of it I learned on my own. More and more of my free time goes into a slightly more productive kind of “entertainment”: analysing market trends, listening to experts and reading (I’m a bit of an odd one).

How I work

Learn and take apart

Research thoroughly before touching anything and understand how everything works inside.

Optimise to the max

Get the most out of the fewest resources.

Troubleshooting

Find what’s failing, fix it and leave it working better than before.

Structure rules

Whether it’s air conditioners stacked in a warehouse or an ad campaign: if the structure underneath isn’t solid, everything falls apart.

A bit of bite (the good kind)

Every now and then, playing with social critique, satire and dark humour lets us connect with people through intelligence and not just visuals.

How I build (with AI)

I don’t write the code by hand: I direct it. I bring the idea, the judgement and the testing; Claude writes the code.

I know what a GitHub repository is and I spend a fair amount of time hunting for the best ones: skills, MCP servers and tools that give Claude new abilities. I try them, keep the ones that really work and set them up on my machine. That’s how the apps in the Lab, and this very website, get made.

Claude Code

My workbench, on the PC and on the Mac. Work in batches, with the state of each project written down so nothing gets lost.

Skills

The ones I find on GitHub (interface design, animation, code review) and my own advertising ones, built from what I studied: briefs, strategy, copy, SEO and legal framework.

MCP servers

So Claude can work with my tools: GitHub, Notion, Brevo, Firecrawl, the browser and Google (Drive, Calendar and Gmail).

Project memory

An Obsidian vault with the state, decisions and to-dos, and a code graph made with graphify.

My own server

Almost everything I publish runs on my OVH server, in Docker containers.

Attitude

I’m not a serious guy.

If you’re looking for someone who promises to work on your brand without first setting out a strategy to know where to go, I’m not your person. If you’re looking for someone willing to create differently, who knows how to use AI well and analyse data to find solutions that actually work (with the same obsession I put into that coffee machine), let’s talk.

Serious guys do serious-people things, and being too serious gives you forehead wrinkles. I’d rather spend that energy solving problems.

Shall we talk?

If you’ve read this far, something must have caught your eye.
